Oedipus
Sherman Cymru
During the Summer of 2009, Andy Hamer was selected for the New Artists Scheme at Sherman Cymru, Cardiff.
Further supported by the Arts Council of Wales, a area of inquiry into the Projected Space - an innovative progressive form of lighting design, was investigated.
Combining a background in Sculpture and Theatrical Scenograohy, numerous video projectors were used to create arkchitectural forms.
These forms now create the landscape within which Oedipus is played.

For this, the last ever performance before Sherman closes for
refurbishment, over 100 of our young people will take over the empty
building. This bold retelling of Oedipus/Antigone, with a specially
commissioned script by D J Britton, will take place in the dressing
rooms, down abandoned corridors, across the deserted foyer, in the
auditoriums and stages of the theatre. You the audience will embark on
a rare journey into the heart of a mythical underworld.
